Boxer Roy Jones Jr. knows what it's like to be criticized for being involved in animal fighting. Jones has, in the past, been tied to cockfighting, but he now says he raises chickens just because he likes them, not because he wants to see them fight. So Jones was a logical person to ask about the allegations that Falcons quarterback Michael Vick is involved in dog fighting, and Robert Cassidy of Newsday did just that:
People tend to talk so hard against people. They make it such a bad thing, like dog fighting is worse than killing someone. I'm not a dog fighter. I've never been to a dog fight. But just because they have the animals doesn't mean they are fighting the animals. Michael Vick doesn't have that kind of time to train and raise dogs... I like bulldogs and I like their mentally. They are making this so bad, but really two dogs fighting can happen in anyone's backyard or on the street. It happened in my backyard, two of my dogs fought and one died.
Three follow-ups I wish Cassidy had asked Jones:
1. Can you name even one person who has said dog fighting is worse than killing someone, or even said anything like that?
2. How do you know Vick's schedule so well that you can be certain that Vick doesn't have time to raise dogs?
3. Do you really think what happened in your backyard is the same as organizing events in which two dogs are forced to fight each other to the death?

For those who are involved in Dog Fighting, preparing a dog for a dog fight is like preparing a prize fighter for the ring. Yes, I have witnessed the process. Mr. Vick would need alot of time to prepare dogs to fight. Who knows if he has the time or would be so foolish as to involve himself in the illegal dog fighting game.

Three follow-ups to you:
#1 Many more people are more willing to "let the facts come out first" before they condemn Chris Benoit in their minds, although he was accused with much more evidence of killing his family and himself. And they are talking about"the pressures of his occupation", even willing to blame his emplyer and his physician... So YES, people are treating Vick worse than someone who has killed people.
#2 What is SO WRONG about Roy Jones stating the obvious. Just because Vick owned dogs, does not mean that he fought them. He never said dog-fighting was cool. He just said there is no proof that Vick did it. You have a problem with anyone who does not buy into your hysteria.
#3 You don't have any knowledge what-so-ever that organized dog-fighting even took place. You can't post a single link to a credible source that still makes the claim that dogs were found in abused condition. Not one single source. I'm calling you out. I called out Dan Benton and he has yet to respond agian. Not a single, credible, registered news source.
Your tactics are obvious to anyone who is not as dumb as a rock. But I give you credit for doing your job of illiciting responses...
But at whose expense?
You have a miserable existence.

Killing people (men, women, and children) in Iraq and Afghanistan is alright and moral, but fighting dogs is wrong. We sure have some good Christian morals, what exactly is the moral majority?

It's kind of funny how some people " you know yourselves " are willing to give chris benoit the benefit of the doubt. This slime and scum chris benoit killed his family, yet some people are willing to wait for all the facts to come out before convicting him yet those same people want to crucify and bury michael vick.

I forgot about that one... And the amazing fact is that many people were responding to that blog with how outraged they were even AFTER the blog was published that retracted it.
People only read the bold accusations (which are opinions), but never the retractions (which are facts)...
Still waiting for that link MDS...

What bloody carpet? What dogs with scars? What blood splattered on the wall? Are you referring to what was reported on the "BLOGS"? I guess you are like all of the other sanctimonious, quick-to-condemn people out there who didn't see the retraction.
It was reported in a leak, but corrected later, but you didn't see that part, huh? None ever sees the retraction that is factual. They only see the opinionated accusations.
Like I said, Dan Benton replied to me "you should read" and providied me links to His and MDS' blogs. No sources that still claim this, except their own opinionated blogs.
Wake up idiots! Blogs are not news! They are nothing more than editorials on a website.
And by the way, mustardhead, before you decide to call someone an "ignortant non educated homey" you ought to check your spelling of 8th grade level words like "ignorant."

First of all, the argument that Mike Vick doesn't have the time to train dogs is ludicrous. His cousin lived in his house and did the training. Does the owner of the team spend time to train the athletes or coaches hired by the owner?
Secondly, Mike Vick is a liar when he said he never was at the house. People in the area had seen him numerous time, including a shop owner who said he bought syringes. What irks me the most is that he thinks people are dumb and that he can lie his way out of things because of who he is. The same goes for Barry Bonds.
Thirdly, there is plenty of evidence that supports that there was some dog training/dog fighting activities on his property. There was a bloody carpet, dogs with scars/mutulated limb and a harness that was buried in the backyard. For his cousin to use the alibi "that's not mine" is a joke. Plus, he was being served a warrant for drug charges. What kind of credibility does he have.
Lastly, people need to be treated the same, regardless of their fame and fortune. If Joe Schmo was caught with the evidence that was seized, he may not have had the huge publicity that this case has seen, but he would be in jail, either awaiting trial or convicted.

umm........battered?
Having lots of chickens ain't like having 50+ pit bulldogs...Dudes that have 50+ pits and hang out with Jay Z like to see em fight. dont be a dumbass.
Also, this just in : south americans with 50+ modified cigarette speedboats don't just 'like em'. More likely, they are smugglers. Use some reason, people.

U see how they do,right???
They let Benoit get off and try to talk about how nice a person he was(rest his soul),and how he was a family man,and everything..
He cheated and tried to get ahead!! He used a drug that is outlawed in sports, and he commited the ultimate sin!!
He killed..!!!!!!
His wife and child!!!
Then he killed himself!!!
Im gonna make this what it is..If he was a black man he would get no sympathy, nor would he be given the benefit of the doubt..
That makes Michael Vick look a lot better as a person in comparison...
U all cheat for your own people and cheat against others who are not the same color or have the same eye color as U!!!
I am an american, and i would like to give all the benefit of the doubt..But when crap like this go on,u get to see just how justified how most "White People" are!! Unjustified!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Evidence? Hilarious...mountains of evidence, least of which is the FACT that Vick's cousin could never afford to run an operation of that size. Throw in the locals who often saw Vick purchasing dog supplies in the area, and the informant who claims Vick bet thousands on fights, and it seems there is enough to start a serious investigation.
