After the Michael Vick indictment, we can expect to see a lot of public service announcements in which athletes speak out against dog fighting and animal cruelty. Boxer Lamon Brewster is first up:
The NFL is desperate not to allow Vick to taint the entire league, and as a result, I can guarantee that we'll see a lot of NFL players making similar PSAs.

IT's good if players make that sorts of commercials, etc. but I really hope they will tell someone if they suspect another player's involvment in dogfighting.

To all of Vick's sympathizers: Why shouldn't Lamon attack Vick? Vick can fight back, unlike the poor animals he abused. Anyone who supports him and what he did should be ashamed and certainly shouldn't be going around and making their ignorance and cruelty public knowledge.

Way to go Lamon for the public service announcement against dog fighting. NFL players follow suit to save your league from further damage.

This is a great piece. Thanks to all the Blogs and Networks that carry it.
Lamon seems to have the class that Vick so sadly lacks.

Now I know what would be the perfect punishment when Vick is convicted- let Lamon Brewster beat the hell out of him! You Vick supporters- don't worry if he goes to prison and then drops out of sight soon afterward. You'll see him again someday- in Hell.

Dog fighting is disgusting, and if Vick is found quilty he should be banned from the NFL. But my point is let the NFL do there job, and suspend, fine or ban players. Since when has PETA become the spokeman for the NFL, PETA has other agenda's besides Vick. Vick should be dealt with and he is, by his employer...the NFL. Let the courts and NFL deal with him. I just feel that no public service organization like Peta, Red Cross or Salvation Army should be setting policy for any one other than their own organizations.

THE TRUTH, stick up for Vick, go ahead and do it. Don't you recall his law suit with the woman who he infected with herpes. He settled it a few years ago, it was all over the news. He gave her big buck$ for knowingly infecting her and without letting her know he was infected. Sounds like a real nice guy your sticking up for, a real class act.
Don't play the race card on this one because bad dudes come n all colors. What needs to be done is for all races to stop making heroes outta their gangsta's.
Warning to inmates at Federal Correctional Facilities, if Mike gets jail time and is sent to your crib, don't drop your soap in the shower cause your gonna get it.

Brewster's a step in the right direction, but much to small. With people like Donovan McNabb coming out in support of torturing animals, the NFL better act quickly to dodge this bullet. It may seem unlikely now, but you may well see more empty seats this year than you can imagine. I, for one, have cancelled all my tickets for all games involving the Falcons or Eagles. I won't be alone.

Thanks to Ray for a heads up post The NFL has gotten way out of control of it's "employees". Some action must be taken now for these players that consider themselves to be Demi Gods above civilized law.
As for as groups like the Humane Society....their involvement has had an impact on a case that otherwise might have been, again, a simple slap on the hand for another "Superstar"
