The world's best boxer will take on the world's most popular boxer on December 6 when Manny Pacquiao steps into the ring with Oscar De La Hoya, ESPN.com is reporting.Although neither Pacquiao's camp nor De La Hoya's camp would confirm it, they said there is a big announcement taking place tomorrow afternoon, and all indications are that both boxers have agreed to the fight.
The fight is expected to take place at 147 pounds -- three pounds lighter than De La Hoya fought at the last time he stepped into the ring, and 12 pounds heavier than Pacquiao fought at last time. Five of De La Hoya's last six fights have been at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, and this one likely will be as well.
Pacquiao is widely regarded as the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world, and De La Hoya is the most marketable boxer in the world. Although De La Hoya is past his prime, De La Hoya vs. Pacquiao will excite boxing fans like no other fight could, and is therefore great for the health of the sport. This will be the most-watched fight of the year, by far, and it will introduce the great Pacquiao to millions of American fans.

I agree with skippy. i love oscar i was and will always be a fan of him and i love manny also. But I think Oscar is just too big and manny will carry this weight, it's just too heavy for him. I thought oscar was supposed to fight Sergio Mora? That's a better fight for him or Margarito.

i also would like to see oscar fight mora but this fight is no joke this is not a walk in the park for oscar manny always puts on at least 9 to 11 pounds after every weigh in oscar has to lose some serious weight and he has not been that lite in a long time plus lets not forget about the age factor so with all that in mind manny has already fought at that weight and is fast and confortable oscar has to make weight and not loose stamina and the end of the fight where as manny is a machine that just does not stop cant wait to see this go down goint to be one for the history books

This could be history in the making… coz for me… why makes it history is that most people doesn’t even think that this fight could be possible… and that makes it so much exciting to watch… but if i were to ask i do love to win dela hoya.. honestly im a filipino but i like dela hoya to win coz if you were just here in the philippines pacquiao’s head is getting bigger… he even plan to run for senetor here even if filipino knows that he don’t have any idea what he is about to enter… what pacquiao mostly is fame and he lets our politician to use his fame… majority of filipinos love pacquiao as a boxer as our hero not a politician… thats my opinion… just an opinion..

What I'm about to say isn't to bash Oscar as a person, or all he has accomplished as a fighter. He truly is the People's Champ. But I have lost a lot of respect for what he is doing as a promoter. I then began to yell at Oscar telling him Que se "Rajo" with Margarito, which means he went against his word,and I kept saying it over and over again as I pointed to My Tijuana Tornado T shirt. Respecting the rights of others is more than everything. Manny Pacquiao wants to do something after his boxing career. He wants to enter in politics, well who are you to say no? If you do not want him to be your mayor, governor,senator or whatever, don't vote for him. You have freedom to choose but you have no right to stop Manny. Anyway pag senador ka na Manny isa lang ang hiling ng sambayanang pilipino, SUNTUKIN MO ANG MGA CORRUPT MONG KASAMA.

Speaking of fight between Pacman Pacquiao and Golden Boy Oscar, well that is the most awaited fight for the filipino fans. Manny Is a good example of a brave filipino fighter fighting with hope and dreams for every fans around the world. I used to watch many of Oscar's fight and he deserves every win but the solid LEFT of Pacquiao is more than Oscar's weight and height. Yes you are big and tall but what will you do if a sharpshooter is very .fast approaching coming from nowhere. For Pacquiao, be careful of De La Hoya's scientific moves. For Oscar, "small but terrible" is infront of you so don't close your eyes otherwise ....... i don't know. Good Luck and thanks to promoter who made this fight possible. We love this game.
