When Oscar De La Hoya sat down with a group of reporters in Chicago, the first question asked of him was whether he's a Cubs fan or a Sox fan. Here was his answer:
"I've always been a big fan of the, uh, I think -- is it after the sixth inning where they sing 'Take Me Out to the Ball Game'?"
He was then told that it's actually the seventh-inning stretch, and he said, "So I have to lean toward the Cubs, right? Because I've always wanted to sing that song."
Oscar was then asked if he was a baseball fan growing up, and he said, "Huge. Huge. Big Dodgers fan. Ron Cey, Steve Garvey, Mike Scioscia."
Not to cast any doubt on De La Hoya's baseball fandom or anything -- and he did sound sincere when he said he loved the Dodgers as a kid -- but can you really be a "huge" fan if you think they sing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" during the sixth-inning stretch?
