Ring Magazine junior welterweight champion Ricky Hatton says he isn't looking past Saturday night's fight with Paulie Malignaggi. But he also says he has an idea for who he'd like to fight next.
Asked today about his thoughts on the December 6th fight between Manny Pacquiao and Oscar De La Hoya, Hatton said, "I would absolutely love to fight the winner of that."
Hatton sounded particularly interested in fighting Pacquiao, whose size and style would make a fight against Hatton particularly interesting.
"Manny Pacquiao is one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world," Hatton said. "I would like to think I'm in line to fight the winner."
Hatton acknowleded that in his last fight, a unanimous decision win over Juan Lazcano, he looked lackluster. But he said he'll prove against Malignaggi that he deserves to fight one of the biggest names in the sport, De La Hoya or Pacquiao.
"Judging by my performance against Lazcano, I'm not worthy of that fight," Hatton said. "But after I beat Paulie Malignaggi I will be really, truly worthy of a fight against the Oscar De La Hoya-Manny Pacquiao winner."

Ricky Hatton come forward style is a good match to Manny Pacquiao whirlwind offense. I wish the two win their respective fight so they can face each other. It will be the biggest boxing event in 2009!

i had a feeling this will be an interesting fight if ever Pacquiao locked horns with Hatton...they are pretty much even in terms of size and weight..ill go for Pacquiao because of speed and stamina..Hatton will be fighting for the money and end his career with exclamation point...which i believe his only motivation is to exit gracefully win or lose.

If Hatton improves his style he will have a chance against Manny but the fight boxing fans want to see is Margarito vs De La Hoya, Hatton vs Pacquia would be a good fight since they both are about the same, but i think Hatton could beat Manny but i have a feeling Oscar is gonna win in Dec.

The factors are concedingly and glaringly un-equal. Age, speed, built, reach, and height. The first two are in Pacquiao's favor while the last, for De la Hoya. But even if age and speed would be the factors to reckon to incline for Pacman, DLH has not really slowed that much nor has shown the signs of an old boxer as seen even in his lost fight with Mayweather. Thus, Manny's edge is truly minimal compared with Oscar's substantial advantage of built, reach, and height. I root for Pacman because of his big fighting heart and no nonsense offensive style, but clearly, this is a "Dream Mismatch".

Oscar de la hoya is the best pound for pound fighter today he may be old but he's ageing gracefully and with all the ring knowledge he has he's gonna drop manny to the canvas in seven rounds he's built like a tank he's a dedicated man and a real family man he trains to be in the best possible condition for fight night and it shows come december sixth manny be down in the seventh and hatton be wetting himself at the thaught of taking Oscar on only Oscar really challenged floyd mayweather and exhausted him and I do believe him when he said he had the wrong game plan for that fight I'd love to see Floyd and Oscar fight again I think there would be a different outcome if they fought again
