Lennox Lewis Wants to See Manny Pacquiao vs. Ricky Hatton

After beating Paulie Malignaggi on Saturday night, Ricky Hatton has just about cleared out the 140-pound weight class in boxing. But immediately after the fight, the MGM Grand was buzzing with speculation about whether Hatton would move up or down in weight, or whether another fighter would move to 140 pounds to challenge Hatton.

Count former heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis as one who thinks Hatton's next opponent should be Manny Pacquiao. If Pacquiao beats Oscar De La Hoya in two weeks, Lewis said after calling Hatton-Malignaggi on HBO, Pacquiao-Hatton needs to happen.

"I think it would be a very interesting fight," Lewis said. "They have to agree on what weight they want to come in at, but obviously the fans would love to see a fight like that."

As for Hatton, he says he'd love to face the De La Hoya-Pacquiao winner.

"Bring it on, I'd definitely like to do it," Hatton said in the ring immediately following last night's fight.

And Hatton even suggested that he'd be willing to move up in weight to fight De La Hoya, or down in weight to fight Pacquiao, if that's what he has to do.

"Nobody will ever beat me at junior welterweight," Hatton said. "Nobody -- I really believe that. But what sort of champion would I be if I just stayed at my weight?"
