Odds Say Manny Pacquiao Knocking Out Oscar De La Hoya Is a Long Shot

Oscar De La Hoya has predicted that there will be a knockout when he fights Manny Pacquiao on Saturday night. Pacquiao's trainer, Freddie Roach, says he believes Pacquiao will knock De La Hoya out.

But the betting odds say that while a De La Hoya knockout of Pacquiao is quite likely, a Pacquiao knockout of De La Hoya is a long shot.

Here are the odds from Bodog:
Final Result

Oscar De La Hoya by KO, TKO, or DQ 3/2

Oscar De La Hoya by Decision 8/5

Manny Pacquiao by KO, TKO, or DQ 9/1

Manny Pacquiao by Decision 11/4

Draw 17/1

Those odds reflect the size difference between De La Hoya (whose last fight was at 150 pounds and who has fought as heavy as 160 pounds) and Pacquiao (whose last fight was at 135 and who has fought at much lower weights than that). But I think that when we see them at the weigh-in today, the size difference won't look so significant, and a lot of late money will come in on Pacquiao.

We'll have a De La Hoya-Pacquiao live blog on Saturday night here at FanHouse.
