LAS VEGAS (AP) - Floyd Mayweather has been cleared by doctors to fight Juan Manuel Marquez on Sept. 19 at the MGM Grand.The flamboyant former pound-for-pound king was scheduled to fight Marquez next month at the MGM Grand, but his return from a brief retirement was postponed after he injured a rib training.
Mayweather told fans in a statement to "hold on to their hats and sombreros when I get back in the ring and show what they have been missing these past 18 months."
Marquez, wildly popular in his native Mexico, will be fighting on the weekend after Mexican Independence Day.

If you want to all out discount Mayweather as a good fighter, then you don't know much about boxing. However, a real warrior fighter, is defined by the fight that they give within the ring, not the words they throw as their punch's, outside of it!
Now, with that being said, let us shed more light on the fighter that Mayweather is fighting. Everyone is looking for those three enchanting words, Pacquiao vs. Mayweather, and they are also negating the fact that: Marquez is the same man who gave Pacquiao more than a handful of problems, not in just one, but two different fights.
Tailor made for each other, maybe? Nevertheless, perhaps it is not such a good idea for people to overlook the type of fight that Marquez can bring to Money Mouth Mayweather!

You want to talk about handfulls, lets take it back to Hatton vs Mayweather. Hatton won that fight if it wasn't for Mayweathers LUCKY punch in the 10th. Pacquiao KNOCKED OUT Hatton in the 2nd round. He had to be taken straight to the hospital. That's how hard Pacquiao hit Hatton. You guys want to talk about warriors, Marquez is a warrior and you will all see that come Sep 19.

I was pointing out the fact that people who are so infatuated with the "Future Match" between Pacquiao & Mayweather are ignoring just how good of a fighter that Marquez is. Where Marquez displays his heart inside of the ring, Mayweather displays his mouth outside of it. Marquez is a great warrior, and should not be viewed as a stepping stone! So next time Fernando, read a tad bit more slow, and qualify your comments before you let them go!

I know Floyd is a good fighter but he is boring. Look at the Oscar DeLahoya fight...he just defended himself rather than fight. If it weren't for Oscar, there wouldn't have been a fight. I do think that Pacquiao will beat him no problem. Pacquiao devoured Hatton in 1.5 rounds but it took Mayweather 11 rounds to knock him out.
