One of the most anticipated boxing matches of the year has become official, as the promoter for Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto announced today that the two will fight on November 14 in Las Vegas.Pacquiao-Cotto joins Floyd Mayweather vs. Juan Manuel Marquez as one of two fights this fall that have boxing fans salivating, and we can be sure that the promoters and the fighters (especially Mayweather) will engage in some trash talk about which of the bouts is truly the year's biggest fight.
Bob Arum, who promotes both Pacquiao and Cotto, made the official statement:
"Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto have reached an agreement to fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday, November 14," said Arum. "The fight will be seen live on HBO Pay-Per-View. Top Rank is working on a major media tour to start right after Labor Day. Further details will be announced as we get closer to kicking off the tour."Pacquiao vs. Cotto is a great fight. Pacquiao is the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world, but Cotto, the WBO welterweight champion, is a real threat to him.
Now let's hope Mayweather, Marquez, Pacquiao and Cotto can all agree that the two winners of these two fights will meet each other in the ring. That would be the superfight every boxing fan would crave in 2010.

Its pure hate that got Mayweather on top where he once was...and will be again. Cotto will lose to the pacman because he is a brualer not a skilled boxer/brauler combination pacman is..the winner will face MAYWEATHER..which will be a spactaculer fight with exciting moments, knock downs and cuts...but MAYWEATHER WILL WIN the decision sorry haters!!!

cotto isn't a skilled boxer? you have to be on hard drugs to make a comment like that. cotto is far from being a brawler. he definately has the skill AND power to end this pacquiao hype machine.

You think it's a hype? and still not a believer? Watch the fight on Nov.14. I have respect for Cotto, but loosing a few pounds to fight Manny is definitely not good for him. He'll face a boxer that brings the pressure for 12 solid rounds. Heck whoever wins this fight Should face the winner of Juan"Crybaby" manuel Marquez-Fraud Gayweather.

The "Pacquiao hype machine" for your information was able to knock the blocks off of a series of Mexican and U.S. champions including the TRULY hyped Oscar de la Hoya who said he would "punish" Pacquiao but ended up beaten into submission. Nov. 14 will confirm my antitcipation that Cotto will be put to sleep by Pacquiao's heavy punches.

i gotta say manny is a great fighter. but half of his wins were not against fighters in their prime.he beat great fighters aswell.. and for cotto he is always sort of an underdog.. when he fought shane they said he would lose...when he fought zap judda he was supposed to lose..when he foght corley they say corley would knock him out..even quintana was supposed to beat him..all i can say thatits going to be a great fight..
