After live tweeting the Floyd Mayweather vs. Juan Manuel Marquez play-by-play, I got a lot of questions from readers for a boxing Twitter mailbag. But while plenty of questions were about who won the Mayweather-Marquez fight and how (answer: Mayweather by unanimous decision), we'll start with questions about Shane Mosley and HBO boxing announcer Max Kellerman, who made headlines with their actions in the Mayweather post-fight interview.Fans who saw Mosley call out Mayweather wanted to know whether a Mayweather-Mosley fight is possible, or if Mayweather will next fight Manny Pacquiao or Miguel Cotto. I also answer questions about just how dominant Mayweather was in his victory over Marquez in the new boxing twitter mailbag below.
MMAUSA: What did you think of Max Kellerman's post-fight interview with Floyd Mayweather and Shane Mosley?
I didn't like it. Kellerman is a consummate professional who's usually extremely well prepared, but he clearly wasn't prepared for his post-fight interview with Mayweather turning into a confrontation with Mosley. Kellerman looked hapless as Mayweather and Mosley jawed at each other, and when Mayweather ripped Kellerman by saying, "Let me talk -- you do too much talking" Kellerman came across as feeble by throwing it back to Jim Lampley.
I also didn't like Kellerman's decision to answer a subsequent question from Lampley about what kind of chance Pacquiao would have against Mayweather by saying, "Before I even answer that, I just want to address Floyd's behavior. It seems to me that in certain ways he can't get out of his own way. I'm friendlier in my disposition to Floyd than most in the media because I enjoy pure boxers and he's an all-time great pure boxer. And yet he seems to feel persecuted by even me, who really enjoys his craft."
Kellerman was so defensive that he never did get around to offering viewers his analysis of how Pacquiao would do against Mayweather, and that's a shame. Kellerman is one of the best boxing analysts around, and I wanted to hear him analyze boxing. Instead I heard him conduct a weak interview with Mayweather followed by an even weaker justification of that interview.
OrangeChuck: I was at Pacman/Hitman & it seemed to me the GoldenBoy people were trying to get Mosley with Mayweather Jr. or Pacman.
I agree with you -- Golden Boy Promotions really wants to put Mosley in a superfight. I'd prefer to see Mayweather fight the Pacquiao-Cotto winner, but I think there's a real chance that Golden Boy will put together the right financial offer and get Mayweather in the ring with Mosley.
TodjAE Yo -- Thanks for the tweet-by-tweet. #FAWEsome, man. JUST #FAWEsome.
tshirtmaker Keep the info coming. Like 20 people are following your tweets in a limo.
These were two of several comments from people saying they enjoyed the live tweet. It's always good to hear. Thanks for following. I enjoyed doing it every bit as much as you enjoyed reading it.
jakesikora: Does HBO still replay their PPV fights later? I haven't had HBO in a while but hope they still do
Yes. Mayweather-Marquez will air on HBO on Saturday night, along with live coverage of Vitali Klitschko vs. Cristobal Arreola.
shesaidshewas18: Do you think Floyd can beat Pacquiao?
Yes. Prior to Saturday night I would have picked Pacquiao to beat Mayweather. Now I'm leaning toward picking Mayweather. It would be a great, great fight, though, featuring the two best boxers in the world, in their primes. I sure hope we get to see it.
ushneb: Pacquiao will fight Mayweather for 5 rnds. Mayweather will become really good friends with the mat.
You might be right. If there's anyone with the combination of speed, aggression and punching power to chop Mayweather down, it's Pacquiao. Mayweather has never fought anyone who can attack him the way Pacquiao can, but Pacquiao has never fought anyone with Mayweather's defensive skills.
TONYTALIBAN: When Floyd can finish a boxing match against an opponent we've heard of, I'll be impressed.
If you weren't impressed by Mayweather Saturday night, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. Sure, I'd love to see Mayweather go for the knockout, but he just won all 12 rounds against one of the best boxers in the world.

Pac-man will not get past COTTO. COTTO is boxings wild card with great odds in his favor.
Pac-man has no work for Cotto.Aslo Mayweather needs to stop ducking top boxers like M.Cotto P.Williams. He picked Marquez cause if you ask me was on his way out the door. Marquez won that fight with Juan Diaz by luck!!! He didn't look good in that fight he was already tired in the 3rd round he should retire. As for Mosley your time is up i think you should retire to.
who has floyd ducked???? shane is a stariod take boxer who has gained so much body mass that he should be a bodybuilder, most people that talk boxing never has put on boxing glove's walk a day in there shoe's,it would never happen because of you guy's are a bunch of glass jaw, can't take a punch, matter of fact i seen you get knockout 2 months ago, just playing just wanted talk some crap.... floyd will kick shane ass if he really had something to bring to the table like money ,asses in seat's,can yopu really say you like shane mosely????
Floyd didn't pick Cotto because Cotto was already signed to fight Pacquiao!
I hate Max Kellerman who doesn't deserve to be in the ring with any boxer!
He SET UP Floyd Mayweather pure and simple. HE KNEW Shane was coming onstage. He had to have known it because he didn't look surprised!
Kellerman DISRESPECTED Floyd Mayweather, and he should be FIRED or he should have to go 3 rounds in the ring with MAYWEATHER! HA! Maybe then he would shut the hell up and let Floyd talk.
I didn't spend $50 to hear Kellerman talk! I spent the money to see Floyd beat the crap out of Marquez (which he did) and Kellerman was being a total bi*ch in the ring.
"Jim...Jim...Jim"
God, I wanted Floyd to bi*ch slap him.
BUT, that is probably what he wanted also. Shane Mosley does not DESERVE a match with Floyd. NO WAY! He has been on steroids so long he looks like Lenox Lewis!
Floyd did a great job with Marquez and two pounds was NOTHING. It is not like Floyd LEANED on him or anything. He just plain OUT-BOXED him!
Way to goooooooo Floyd!!!!
When will they give money his do. All I heard was Marqez was 1A in the pound for pound, now I hear he was hand pick ? The truth is he would destroy anyone they put in there with him.
Floyd should fight SSM anyone that is delirous enough to think that he has a chance against floyd. Answer me this he is about the same height as JMM. Weights about the same. just cause he throws alot punches doesnt mean he hurting floyd. It look exactly like yesterday fight. SSM on the other hand is an natural WW and can some what match flody speed. He hits harder than floyd. Floyd is scared of fighting him. Look how he started stuttering when he got confronted by him in ring.
Why did SSM duck mayweather 10 years ago in 99? Mayweather wanted the fight. It was SSM who turned it down. That's when floyd was still young and SSM was in his prime. Bottom line is, Shane is looking for a pay day. One that will end up being exactly like De la hoya mayweather. I don't care how big, fast, powerful SSM is, what good is that if you can't hit mayweather?
I have lost all respect or patience for failed white rapper Max Kellerman. His behavior was beyond disrespectful, and you know why? To begin with, to cut off Floyd- and like a spoiled little kid. "Jim..?? JIM?" As if he is getting the last word. Did Max Kellerman not notice the name on the marquee, on the tickets? It was Mayweather- I paid $50 for that fight, perhaps I wanted to hear what Floyd had to say? Not what Max Kellerman was going to LET him say. Max's comments afterwards were also beyond offensive. He implies that Floyd didnt do himself any "favors"- again, noone is there to listen to YOU, Max. He also implied that because he is "nicer", Floyd should have given him what he wanted. This is a bias they don't even see that they hold against Floyd Mayweather- I'm just sick of it.
Agree 100% ... you said it much better than I did.
mayweather is the promotion HBO payperview is the telecast therefore hbo calls the shots not Mayweather.
I felt extremely disapointed with the interview after the fight. Max,like a spoil bratt was the cause of the caos. He did not show Mayweather the proper respect he deserves because that was his moment of glory; and to add insult to injury Max kept cutting off Mayweather and also allow Mosley to intervene with his non sense. I wanted to hear what Mayweather had to say. I did not pay the pay per view to see Max disrespecting Mayweather. HBO should have a talk with this character name Max so the customers will not feel cheated at the end of a fight.
my thing is if oscar or shane had fought and mayweather would of pulled a kanye like shane did, they would b crucifying floyd about it..to me he is n a no win situation..give him his due..he beat marquez down and marquez is a great fighter, who just about every1 said beat pac man n those two fights so dont discredit him like he was a nobody..as for a shane a guy he took steroids to beat oscar in thos e 2 fights, now if floyd was n them shoes thats all u would b talking about is him cheating using roids.another point in y people always hate on money..
This is not the VMA's, it's a contact sport "BOXING".Fighters like Ali, Hopkins, Mayorga, Tyson -etc disrespect their opponents to make and sell fights all the time. Mayweather is one of the best fighters and could be one of the greatest fighters once he starts fighting great fighters - not old/smaller fighters. Mayweather himself is not a professional and never intended to make the weight at 144, he had 5 months to get down to this weight and also refused to weigh himself in the night of the fight to show the weight disadvantage. Questions asked by Kellerman are questions boxing fans want to know, offensive but straight forward. In the post interview if we do not hear the names Mosley, Cotto, Pacman, P. Williams and even Berto from Mayweather's mouth, there is no reason to continue with the interview, Back To You Jim.... Correct???? Since Mosley cannot get any serious response from PBF's reps, he wanted to hear it from the horses mouth which is Yes or No. I would respect PBF more if he gave Mosley a sincere answer.
Kudos to Max Kellerman for asking (I'm paraphrasing)why don't you fight someone your own size? That was a fair question and one that I've been asking. Kudos to Mosley for challenging Mayweather. This is a fight I have wanted to see for years.
From what I could see, Mayweather had a meltdown when confronted by Mosley. Mayweather was speaking like a incoherent child so Kellerman gave it back to Lampley. Nothing wrong with that. I didn't see any weakness there.
I honestly believe that Mayweather will never have the balls to fight Mosley. He said he came back to fight the best. I don't believe it. He came back to fight the smallest guys for the biggest money. That's obvious.
Mayweather, grow a pair and fight Mosley or go back into retirement.
Agreed. Also, @ hgbeto; also right on!
Randy see you are asking the wrong qustion, its not who has Money beat (everyone that has gotten in with him) but its who has beating him (no one). Now I ask you do you really think Shane would give Money a good fight(who has he beat)? Im sure you so the fight do you really think two pounds was the difference? Its funny how all these fighter are called great until after they fight Money. He will fight pman or ssm soon and then you all will find a reason on why he beat the crap out of them to.
ATT: Michael David Smith, HOW CAN YOU EXPECT ANY BOXING ANALYST TO CONDUCT A GOOD INTERVIEW WITH A SELF CENTERED ARROGANT IDIOT LIKE MAYFLOWER JUNIOR? HE WAS CUTTING MAX KELLERMAN OFF, NOT ANSWERING SPECIFIC QUESTIONS AND DANCING AROUND THE SUBJECT OF WHY HE CAME IN 2 POUNDS HEAVIER AND PAYED JUST $600,000, WHEN THE NORMAL FINE FOR THAT IS A MILLION PER POUND. MAYFLOWER JR IS A JOKE WITH A PAPER CHAMP RECORD AND MAX KELLERMAN COULD NOT CONDUCT AN INTERVIEW LIKE HE WAS TRYING TO BECAUSE A HUNGRY FIGHTER BY THE NAME OF MOSLEY WANTED TO START SOMETHING UP WITH MAYFLOWER JR FOR A FUTURE FIGHT. YOU NEED TO ANALYZE THE FIGHT AGAIN BEFORE WRITING AN ARTICLE FOR THIS SITE.
mayweather cheated the fans by not coming into the weigh-in at the agreed cath-weight! marquez is already handicapped by having to go up 2 divisions in weight and yet floyd didn't honor the catch-weight provision! opting instead to pay the fine to protect his undefeated record.. it's no surprised then that he'd dominate marquez in 12rds UD.. how could he regain the p4p title when he fought somebody going up in weight against him while it's the exact opposite with pacquiao.. pacman solidified his p4p king status by fighting much bigger men and going up in weight thrice virtually winning all 17 rounds in the three fights and ending them emphatically by KO/TKO's!
Mayweather just beat the crap out of Marquez. Give Mayweather his respect! I know pacman is a driffrent fighter, but i see mayweather beating pac too. His defense is to much for pac and has the rounds go by pac power punch gets weaker. I still won't sleep on pac he is the best for a good reason. Pac still has to go threw Cotto and we all know thats not easy. I think Cotto will win.
I agree with Randy and jayhood for the most part. Floyd is the guy who goes to WWE to promote himself like the "entertainer" he claims to be. For a guy who prides himself in being an "entertainer", he sure handled the mosley confrontation like a whipped b****. His entire entourage came to his rescue when mosley challenged him in front of the world. ANd why the hell would anyone care what mayweather has to say? It's the same damn thing every fight. "I take my hat off to him, he is a great fighter etc." How can someone be that cocky, when they've barely proven anything? Would you rather hear mayweather's analysis of the fight, or whether or not he's going to step up to the plate and prove that he is the best? If Mayweather were to fight mosley next and beat him, then fight pacquiao and beat him, I'd never dis his talent ever again. That being said, I think Mayweather is an awesome boxer, but i thought the last guy i saw him fight that was his size (De La Hoya) won the decision.
I give extra kudos to Max for confronting mayweather. Mayweather claims to be the best, and by viewing his record, you might agree, so why is he so reluctant to respond to the challenge of someone who might also be considered the best? If you do not ask questions, answers will never be given. Congratulations Max, and if HBO fires you, shame on them.
