Junior middleweight contender Derek "Pooh" Ennis will go after his seventh consecutive victory as well as the USBA title on Friday night when he meets Eromosele Albert of Miami at the legendary Blue Horizon in his hometown of Philadelphia. "I hope everybody comes out, as I will put on a spectacular show," said the 154-pound Ennis (18-2-1, 12 knockouts), who with Albert (22-3-1, 10 KOs) is part of the 10th anniversary show promoted by Greg Robinson of Power Productions.
"I am in shape and ready to box, to hit, and to not get hit," said Ennis. "After I beat him, I am ready to take on all comers next."
In a clash of Philadelphia junior welterweights (140), Tyric Robinson (9-4-1, three) will face Victor Vasquez (9-3, five).
"It's like I have an 'X' on my head, because everybody in Philly wants to fight me," said Robinson. "I sparred Vasquez once or twice, and it really doesn't matter. I don't need to talk too much but I am ready."
In another matchup, Philadelphia super featherweight (126) Coy Evans (4-0-1) will fight Puerto Rico's Carlos Diaz (10-21-4, seven).
Also, New Jersey super middleweight (168) Derrick Webster (2-0, one) will go after his third win against West Virginia's John Colvin (2-7, two), and Rachel Clark (3-2-1, two) of Columbia, S.C., will go after Philadelphia's Natoya Irving, who is making her professional debut.
