Paul 'The Punisher' Williams is not only tall, rangy and talented, but the two-time welterweight and one-time junior middleweight champion appears to have an endless reserve of energy that allows him to throw punches forever and at a high rate.

In his most recent victory over former world champion Winky Wright, Williams threw 1,086 punches -- an average of 91 punches per round that far exceeds the middleweight average of 51 per round.

Conversely, Wright averaged just 43 punches thrown per round, this after averaging 61 blows over the course of his previous seven fights.

"Not only did Williams throw 34 more punches per round than the average middleweight, but he also averaged 56 power punches -- which is as many power shots per round as the middleweight average for total punches," said Rob Canobbio of CompuBox.

"Williams' non-stop attack prevented Winky from getting off," said Cannobio. "Williams' punch out-put not only puts a hurting on opponents- it appears to blunt their offensive attacks."

An examination of Williams' decision over Antonio Margarito yields similar results.

Williams averaged 105 punches against Margarito, this against a man who established a CompuBox record of 1,675 total punches -- or 140 punches per round -- during a win over Joshua Clottey.

Against Williams, however, Margarito threw only 54 punches per round, meaning, "Margarito was probably too concerned with the incoming fire against Williams to get off his own shots," said Canobbio.
